Three Sheets, London

Three Sheets is an award-winning cocktail bar group with outposts in Dalston and Soho, known for its refined yet unpretentious approach to drinks. Founded by brothers Max and Noel Venning, the bars combine technical excellence with a warm, neighbourhood feel, helping redefine London’s modern cocktail scene. With an existing brand in place, our task was to evolve and build upon that foundation, developing additional elements and a cohesive visual language to support the brand’s continued growth. The aim was to balance craft and approachability, reflecting Three Sheets’ understated confidence and reputation for exceptional cocktails.

Communicating a clear narrative for the brand was a central part of the project. While the success and story of the offer were widely recognised, they were rarely conveyed to new guests encountering the brand for the first time. The tagline “Meticulously Simple” emerged as a defining expression of the offer, conveying careful craftsmanship, intentional simplicity, and a dedication to high-quality, effortless drinks. It gave the brand a concise way to articulate its essence in just two words, providing a consistent benchmark against which all creative work could be measured and developed.

With an established wordmark at the core of the brand and a black-and-white colour palette already defined, these elements formed the foundation for all subsequent brand work. A monogram was introduced to the toolkit, providing a concise shorthand particularly suited to digital communications, while the black-and-white palette was fully applied across every touchpoint—from menus to local guidebooks—each featuring archival photography tailored to the individual bar locations and inspired by existing interior details. Finally, a more considered approach to typography added another layer to the brand, helping to create a cohesive identity capable of supporting its growth across current and future sites.
